Rudraprayag, April 8: Despite continuous heavy snowfall in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district, preparations for the Kedarnath pilgrimage are in full swing. The administration has not backed down in the face of weather challenges and is diligently working to complete all necessary arrangements on time for the pilgrimage and the trekking routes.
Currently, food supplies, construction materials, and other essential resources are being transported to Kedarnath via horses and mules. Despite thick layers of snow and harsh weather conditions, workers and animal handlers are ensuring that supplies reach the shrine.
District Magistrate Vishal Mishra is actively monitoring the preparations. He conducts regular review meetings with officials from various departments and provides necessary directives based on the situation on the ground. The administration’s primary focus is on making the pilgrimage route safe, ensuring accommodation, health services, security, and other essential facilities are in place.
Officials have stated that despite the challenging weather, every possible effort is being made to ensure a smooth, successful, and safe Kedarnath pilgrimage. The pace at which work is progressing amidst the snowfall indicates that all arrangements will be fully ready by the time the pilgrimage begins.
Efforts to clear snow from the pilgrimage route, improve rocky paths, and prepare tent and hotel accommodations are also underway. The health department has planned to set up medical posts and emergency services along the route and at the shrine. Police and SDRF teams are also working to strengthen security measures.
District Magistrate Vishal Mishra stated, “No matter how adverse the weather conditions are, our aim is to provide pilgrims with a safe and comfortable journey. Our team is working day and night, even in the snowfall.”
