TDP-BJP-Jana Sena Alliance Poised for Victory in Andhra Pradesh Local Body Elections, Says Lanka Dinkar
TDP-BJP-Jana Sena coalition aims for over 90% success in local elections, claims Lanka Dinkar amid criticism of YSR Congress.

Vijayawada, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Lanka Dinkar, a member of the BJP National Council, expressed confidence that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance is set to secure a significant victory in the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh, projecting a strike rate of over 90%.
He criticized YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his comments on the electoral process, suggesting they were intended to create obstacles or convey a negative stance. Dinkar emphasized that the conduct of local body elections under Reddy’s administration is well-known.
Highlighting the achievements of the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena coalition over the past two years, Dinkar noted their focus on development in both urban and rural areas, aiming to create a “Golden Andhra” and contribute to a “Developed India.”
Regarding the development of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), he countered claims that only ₹140 crore had been allocated for the city’s progress, asserting that other municipalities received significantly more funding. He provided official data to support his argument, revealing that during Reddy’s government from 2019 to 2024, a total of ₹1,016 crore was utilized for VMC.
In comparison, he stated that under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ₹927 crore has been allocated for various projects in Vijayawada from 2024 to 2026.
Dinkar further mentioned that a detailed project report worth ₹4,300 crore has already been prepared for various initiatives related to drinking water supply, infrastructure development, drainage systems, and water network facilities, with work set to commence soon.
He pointed out that several projects under the AMRUT 1 and AMRUT 2 schemes had already been announced for Vijayawada prior to the local body elections.
Dinkar clarified that comparing allocated funds across different projects or categories is not appropriate when multiple funding sources and programs are available for development. He noted that fund allocation is based on the specific priorities and needs of the respective municipalities, rather than an equal distribution.
He criticized the YSR Congress government for allegedly misusing funds designated for urban and rural local bodies for purposes other than infrastructure and development. Therefore, he argued that the YSR Congress has no moral authority to criticize the current government’s fund allocation.
Dinkar urged the public to consider the facts carefully and support the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance candidates in the local body elections. He encouraged voters to select alliance candidates for positions such as mayor, municipality chairperson, councilor, and ward member in urban areas, and for ZPTC, MPTC, and district council chairperson roles in rural regions.
Expressing confidence in the coalition’s success, Dinkar stated that with Naidu’s dedicated efforts and Modi’s backing, the alliance is expected to win over 90% of the seats in both urban and rural local body elections.
