New Delhi, December 1: Sitting in one place for long hours at office or shop often leads to several problems like back pain, neck stiffness, eye problems and stress. If you are also struggling with such issues, ‘Kati Chakrasana’ can provide relief.

This is a yoga pose that can be corrected through regular practice. This is such a practice that you can do anywhere.

To perform this, first stand straight with your feet together. Now while breathing in, stretch both hands forward up to shoulder level. Palms should be facing each other and parallel to the ground. While exhaling, slowly twist your body from the waist towards the right side. Bring the left hand near the right shoulder. Take the right hand backwards and try to wrap it around the left side of the waist.

Also turn your neck and try to look behind the right shoulder. Now the same process has to be repeated from the left side. Repeat this sequence 5 to 7 times.

According to the Ministry of Ayush, Kati Chakrasana is a standing spinal yoga pose. Regular practice increases flexibility and strengthens the spine. It also balances the body’s energy.

It reduces stress while increasing concentration. It also improves memory and enhances sleep quality. Regular practice also strengthens children’s immune system and helps them remain emotionally stable.

Regular practice of this pose keeps health better, but definitely consult an expert before starting any new exercise, especially if dealing with any chronic health problem.
