New Delhi, August 12: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has assured that the Hubli-Varanasi train service will soon operate three days a week. This enhancement will significantly benefit the residents of North Karnataka traveling to Varanasi during the auspicious month of Shravan.
On Wednesday, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi met with Vaishnaw in New Delhi to request an increase in the frequency of the Hubli-Varanasi train service. This improvement aims to enhance connectivity between North Karnataka and Kashi (Varanasi).
Joshi emphasized that increasing the train frequency would benefit not only pilgrims heading to Varanasi and Kashi but also tourists and individuals traveling for employment and business purposes.
Additionally, Joshi urged the Railway Minister to upgrade and modernize the Hubli railway station with improved infrastructure and modern amenities. He requested various facilities for passengers, including parking, shopping malls, multiplexes, restaurants, and commercial outlets.
Vaishnaw responded positively to Joshi’s requests, assuring him that the Hubli-Varanasi train service (Train No. 07323/24) would soon be expanded to operate three days a week.
The Railway Minister also agreed to consider the upgrade and modernization of Hubli railway station in the coming days.
Joshi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna for their positive response to the demands aimed at enhancing the convenience for pilgrims and travelers from Karnataka, especially North Karnataka.
He stated that the increase in train services would provide better connectivity for those traveling between North Karnataka and Varanasi.
Earlier, after taking on additional responsibilities for the Ministry of Education, Prahlad Joshi mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had placed “full trust” in him, leading to this new role. He also noted that he is conducting regular meetings to review all information related to the education department.
Joshi took on the additional responsibilities of the Ministry of Education following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan amid nationwide protests over examination paper leaks.
