
Bangalore, March 23: BJP candidates Srinivas Dasakariyappa and Veeranna Charantimath filed their nominations on Monday for the Davanagere South and Bagalkot assembly by-elections. During this event, BJP workers organized large processions in both Davanagere and Bagalkot cities.
Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra, and other prominent leaders participated in the processions.
Srinivas Dasakariyappa submitted his nomination for the Davanagere South assembly constituency.
Key figures present included former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, former Union Minister G.M. Siddeshwar, A. Narayanaswamy, former National General Secretary and MLC C.T. Ravi, former Minister M.P. Renukacharya, K. Shivanagouda Naik, State President of the ST Front Bangaru Hanumanthu, District President N. Rajshekhar, along with various party leaders and workers.
The candidate led a grand procession, with leaders and party workers chanting slogans, creating a festive atmosphere among the party supporters.
Srinivas Dasakariyappa attended the nomination event with his wife and BJP leaders. A magnificent procession commenced from the Durgambika Temple, featuring participation from several leaders, including former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
After filing his nomination, the BJP candidate expressed confidence in a change for the Davanagere South assembly constituency this time. He stated that the son of a laborer will surely reach the state assembly.
Dasakariyappa emphasized that his only competitor is the Congress party, expressing full confidence in victory. He remarked, “This time, we have hope. BJP will win.”
He also mentioned that party workers and the public are eagerly waiting to vote for the BJP. Commenting on the internal differences within the Congress party, he chose not to elaborate.
BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath filed his nomination for the Bagalkot assembly seat on the same day.
A procession was held, and at the Basaveshwara Circle in Bagalkot city, BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra paid floral tributes at the statue of Basavanna alongside the candidate and other leaders.
