Karnataka BJP Demands Action Against Congress Leader for Polling Center Breach

BJP activists in Karnataka allege Congress leader entered polling center illegally, compromising voter privacy during elections.

Vijayanagara, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : In Vijayanagara, Karnataka, BJP activists are calling for action against Congress leader B.L. Rani after she allegedly entered a polling center during the graduate elections. The incident reportedly occurred at polling booth number 15 in Hosapete, where Rani and her bodyguards are accused of inspecting the voting process.

Following the conclusion of the voting, BJP representatives submitted a complaint to Deputy Collector Kavita S. Mannikeri and Superintendent of Police Jahnvi. They claim that Rani’s presence inside the polling booth jeopardized the confidentiality of the voting process and attempted to influence voters.

The BJP’s local division has requested election officials to review the CCTV footage from the polling station to verify the claims. They insist that if a violation of election rules is confirmed, legal action should be taken against those involved.

The complaint also highlights the need to investigate the staff members who allowed Rani access to the polling booth. The BJP has warned that if no action is taken, they will stage protests before the Election Commission. After filing their complaint, the activists urged both the Chief Election Commissioner and the State Election Commissioner to take action against Rani.

BJP officials emphasized that during the enforcement of the election code of conduct, no party leader should be permitted in restricted areas. They questioned how Congress leaders were allowed access to a location where ballot papers were stored, insisting that the Election Commissioner must act decisively against those responsible.
