Spectacular Air Show Lights Up Varanasi Skies, Celebrating Indian Air Forces 94th Anniversary

The Wings Over Ganga air show in Varanasi captivated thousands, showcasing military prowess and igniting national pride.

Varanasi, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : The skies over Varanasi were electrified on October 25, 2026, as the ‘Wings Over Ganga‘ air show drew massive crowds on its final day. Held in honor of the Indian Air Force‘s 94th anniversary, the three-day event culminated in a spectacular display that left millions cheering in celebration of the Air Force‘s valor.

From early morning, people gathered at Namo Ghat and along both banks of the Ganges, arriving from Varanasi, Chandauli, and various districts in Eastern Uttar Pradesh to witness this historic spectacle.

A major highlight of the air show was the ‘Alaknanda Formation,’ which showcased the coordination among India’s three armed forces. A Chinook helicopter flew overhead, creating a formation of the number ’94’ to commemorate the Air Force’s anniversary, symbolizing its contributions to national defense, military operations, victories, sacrifices, and humanitarian efforts.

As Sukhoi, Rafale, and Tejas fighter jets roared above the Ganges, performing breathtaking maneuvers, the sky filled with excitement. Spectators of all ages captured the moment on their mobile devices, reveling in the thrilling display.

Local enthusiasm for this inaugural air show was palpable, with many praising the event. Abhinesh Singh, a resident of Varanasi, expressed his awe, stating, “In my 56 years, I have never seen anything like this. As people say, with PM Modi, anything is possible. Thanks to him, we witnessed such a magnificent show. The Air Force’s arrangements were excellent and well-organized. This is a proud moment for the people of Varanasi.”

Rajalakshmi Yadav remarked, “I have never seen anything like this in Kashi. We can say that if Modi is involved, it is possible. We owe this experience to PM Modi.”

Poonam Yadav added, “Kashi is known for its beauty and tranquility, but seeing our modern ‘Avengers’ is incredibly inspiring for our youth. I believe this air show will motivate 80 to 90 percent of young people to aspire to be pilots and warriors.”

A local from Chandauli noted, “Since Modi became Prime Minister, Varanasi has seen significant development. Roads and drains have been improved, and the railway station has been upgraded. We never imagined such a grand show would take place here. We were here two days ago and returned today, wishing it would never end.”

The ‘Wings Over Ganga’ air show has carved a special place in the hearts of Varanasi residents, instilling a renewed sense of patriotism and enthusiasm for joining the Air Force among the youth.
