SP MP Ramashankar Rajbhar Promises Seat Allocation News by Diwali
SP MP Ramashankar Rajbhar discusses seat-sharing dynamics in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the elections, emphasizing unity against BJP.

Ballia, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : Ramashankar Rajbhar, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, expressed confidence that seat-sharing arrangements among opposition parties will be finalized by Diwali. He responded to Congress’s claim of contesting 200 seats in the upcoming elections, stating that every coalition partner has the right to assert their demands for more seats.
Rajbhar emphasized that the primary goal is to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh. He noted, “Every party desires to secure more seats, but our leaders agree that we must unite to overcome the BJP and its allies.” He believes that a winning formula has been established within the coalition and expects positive news to emerge soon.
While acknowledging Congress’s request for 200 seats, Rajbhar indicated that the viability of these claims will be assessed based on potential victories. He criticized the BJP for its inflated seat demands, highlighting that while the BJP is seeking 33 seats, it only deserves three based on its past performance.
Rajbhar also addressed posters displayed outside party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s residence, which read, “Brahmin will blow the conch, and the fisherman will ferry across.” He defended the messaging, stating there is no harm in it, especially given the rising issues of violence against women, unemployment, and the education and health crises in the state.
He noted that between 2014 and 2022, the public supported the BJP but now feels deceived. Rajbhar anticipates that in the 2024 elections, many disillusioned voters will align with the Samajwadi Party, contributing to a significant shift in the political landscape.
Rajbhar warned that the opposition must actively challenge any manipulation of the electoral process, citing the removal of 87,000 voters from the rolls without explanation. He stressed the importance of ensuring every eligible voter’s name is included, stating that failure to do so would tarnish the legacy of the electoral commission.
He also commented on the rising public discontent against the government, asserting that current events, including provocative posters, serve to distract from widespread dissatisfaction. Rajbhar concluded by reiterating the necessity for a robust opposition to safeguard democracy in the state.
