Kanhaiya Wadawan Thanks PM Modi for Recognizing Jammu and Kashmirs Historic Ranji Trophy Win

Jammu, March 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Jammu and Kashmir team for winning the Ranji Trophy title for the first time during the 132nd episode of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. He described the team’s victory as historic and inspiring. Wicketkeeper-batsman Kanhaiya Wadawan expressed his joy at receiving recognition from the Prime Minister.

Kanhaiya stated, “First of all, I want to thank PM Modi for acknowledging us. Our hard work has paid off, and he mentioned it in ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ It feels great. After a long time, we have won the Ranji Trophy, but this won’t be our last, and we will strive to perform well in the future.”

He further added, “This achievement is the result of the entire team’s efforts, the association, and everyone involved. The blessings of the people here are with us. The contributions of BCCI President Mithun Manhas and ICC Chief Jay Shah have also been significant. We have been working hard for the past two to three years, and this moment has finally arrived. It is a proud moment for the entire state.”

In his address, PM Modi highlighted that this historic victory came to the Jammu and Kashmir team after nearly seven decades. He also praised the team’s captain, Paras Dogra, for showcasing excellent skills and playing a crucial role in the team’s success.

PM Modi specifically mentioned fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar, noting that his name is being discussed nationwide. Aaqib took a remarkable 60 wickets during this season of the Ranji Trophy. The Prime Minister expressed hope that this victory would inspire the youth of Jammu and Kashmir towards sports, emphasizing the remarkable spirit of the players and his expectation for them to continue performing strongly.
