New Delhi, March 16: Union Minister JP Nadda has accused the Congress party of engaging in political maneuvering during times of national crisis. He highlighted that a Congress leader was found hoarding LPG gas cylinders amid the current situation.
On Monday, Nadda made these remarks in the Rajya Sabha while responding to Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement regarding the shortage of LPG in the country. Nadda expressed his disappointment that the opposition, particularly the Indian National Congress, does not refrain from politicizing issues even during difficult times.
He clarified that the ongoing LPG crisis is not a result of India’s actions, nor has India contributed to this situation. Nadda emphasized that the crisis has arisen solely due to international circumstances. He stated, “We all know that this crisis has been triggered by these international conditions.”
Nadda further mentioned that the Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had already provided detailed information about the crisis in the house. However, he noted that the opposition members were not attentive during Puri’s address. Additionally, he pointed out that a Congress leader was caught hoarding LPG cylinders, inciting public unrest by creating a shortage.
He condemned the Congress for attempting to provoke peaceful citizens during such challenging times. Nadda remarked that it is unfortunate to engage in politics during a crisis, stating that instead of standing with the nation, raising such issues to create chaos is highly condemnable.
Notably, during the Zero Hour, Mallikarjun Kharge had delivered an extensive statement on the LPG shortage. In response, Nadda urged the Chairman to remind Kharge that he exceeded the three-minute speaking limit, as he spoke for over six minutes.
