JD(S) Questions Priyank Kharges Silence on Siddaramaiah Sting Operation Controversy
JD(S) demands a CBI probe into the Siddaramaiah sting operation, questioning Priyank Kharges silence and the governments accountability.

Bengaluru, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : The Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) has raised concerns over former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s involvement in a sting operation, specifically questioning Home Minister Priyank Kharge’s lack of response to the controversy. They are calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter.
In a statement released on the social media platform X, JD(S) challenged whether it was inappropriate to seek an investigation into the sting operation. They questioned Kharge’s approach, asking if he considers himself a dictator by silencing others on the issue.
The party emphasized that in a democracy, the Constitution grants everyone the right to raise questions and advocate for justice. They further probed who might be behind the alleged attempt to tarnish Siddaramaiah’s reputation and criticized the Congress government for delaying the disclosure of the responsible party’s identity.
JD(S) also reminded Kharge that Siddaramaiah’s efforts were instrumental in his own victory in the Chittapur constituency and questioned whether he had the courage to explain the motives behind removing Siddaramaiah from the Chief Minister’s position.
The party criticized Kharge’s silence on a matter that has sparked national debate and expressed concern over the government’s reluctance to hand the case over to the CBI. They suggested that the government might fear revelations regarding the involvement of political leaders in the investigation.
Moreover, JD(S) accused Kharge of being quick to secure a site for the Siddharth Trust while failing to stand up for justice amid the alleged targeting of Siddaramaiah’s reputation. H.D. Kumaraswamy, the party’s state president and a central minister, has called for transparency in the investigation and questioned the government’s response, which has led to political friction in Karnataka.
