Reasi, March 28: The Reasi Police in Jammu and Kashmir has intensified its efforts to dismantle the support ecosystem for terrorism. On Saturday, they seized property belonging to a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist in the Mahore sub-division.
A joint team, including the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Mahore, Parul Bhardwaj, Tehsildar Javid Iqbal, Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Jeet Singh, and revenue officials, conducted the operation in the village of Upper Angralla. This action was taken under the relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.
The seized property belonged to LeT terrorist Mohammad Qasim. The banned terrorist organization’s associate, Shafi, was officially attached under Section 25 of the UAPA. To ensure transparency and adherence to legal procedures, the seizure was carried out in the presence of local residents and family members.
The confiscated property includes approximately three marlas of land. SSP Reasi Parmveer Singh reiterated the commitment to take stringent action against all individuals and networks involved in activities detrimental to national security, peace, and sovereignty. He stated that such decisive actions will continue as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate support structures aiding terrorism in the region.
Earlier, on March 10, the Jammu and Kashmir government dismissed three employees involved in terrorist activities. An order from the Water Resources Department revealed that a temporary employee, Shaukat Ahmed Zargar, from Bijbehara in Anantnag district, was terminated due to his involvement in a case registered in 2019. The case is currently under trial following the filing of a charge sheet related to alleged terrorist activities and conspiracy.
