Reasi, March 28: The Reasi Police in Jammu and Kashmir has intensified its efforts to dismantle the support ecosystem for terrorism. On Saturday, they seized property belonging to a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist in the Mahore sub-division.
A joint team, including SDPO Mahore Parul Bhardwaj-JKPS, Tehsildar Mahore Javid Iqbal JKAS, SHO Mahore Inspector Jeet Singh, and revenue officials, conducted the operation in the village of Upper Angralla. This action was taken under the relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.
The seized property belonged to the banned terrorist organization member, Mohammad Qasim. Shafi, associated with the LeT, was officially attached under Section 25 of the UAPA. To ensure transparency and adherence to legal procedures, the operation was conducted in the presence of local residents and family members.
The seized assets include approximately three marla of land. SSP Reasi Parmveer Singh reaffirmed the commitment to strictly act against all individuals and networks involved in activities detrimental to national security, peace, and sovereignty. He emphasized that such stringent actions will continue as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the support structures aiding terrorism in the region.
Earlier, on March 10, the Jammu and Kashmir government dismissed three employees for their involvement in terrorist activities. An order from the Water Resources Department indicated that a temporary employee from Anantnag district, Shaukat Ahmad Zargar, was terminated due to his involvement in a case registered in 2019. This case is currently under trial following the filing of a charge sheet related to alleged terrorist activities and conspiracies.
