Gangtok, August 11: The Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Shatrughan Kapoor, visited the forward border posts of the 11th and 48th battalions in Sikkim, located at an altitude of 17,000 feet. During his visit, he reviewed operational readiness and engaged in discussions with the troops. DG Kapoor addressed a soldiers’ conference to boost the morale of the personnel.
On Monday, DG Kapoor had also visited the 13th battalion and various forward locations in Sikkim. He interacted with the troops, held a soldiers’ conference, and assessed operational preparations. During this tour, he met with Indian Army officials at the forward locations.
As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, the ITBP has actively participated in various events. On Monday, the 15th battalion organized a Tiranga rally in Udhampur, which included a collective singing of “Vande Mataram.” The event saw enthusiastic participation from the troops, a band platoon, and NCC cadets, promoting messages of patriotism, national unity, and respect for the national flag.
Additionally, the 35th battalion of the ITBP held a grand Tiranga rally in Uttarkashi, where students from the ITBP Public School and troops collectively sang the national song “Vande Mataram.”
The 54th battalion, led by Commandant Kaleem M. Khan, organized a “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign at the Bhallukpong campus in preparation for Independence Day. This event celebrated patriotism, national unity, and pride in the national flag.
