Israeli Ambassador to India Casts Vote Ahead of Upcoming Elections
Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar votes in New Delhi ahead of the October 27 elections, ensuring his voice is heard in Israels democratic process.

New Delhi, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Reuven Azar, the Israeli Ambassador to India, cast his vote at the Israeli embassy in New Delhi ahead of the elections scheduled for October 27 in Israel. This early voting allows Israeli officials abroad to ensure their ballots reach home in time for the election process.
The Israeli embassy in India shared a photo of Ambassador Azar voting on the social media platform X, highlighting the significance of participation. The embassy’s post stated, “Voting for Israel in the world’s largest democracy. Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar has cast his vote in New Delhi ahead of the elections on October 27.”
Israeli embassies worldwide typically have their staff vote early to facilitate the timely arrival of their votes in Israel. Similarly, officials from the Israeli Consulate in Mumbai also participated in early voting. The consulate noted on X, “Today, diplomats from the Israeli Consulate in Mumbai voted for the Knesset elections. They joined other Israeli citizens around the world in determining their country’s future. Every vote is crucial, whether cast in Jerusalem or Mumbai.”
With just two weeks remaining until the elections, Israeli media outlets such as Maariv, Channel 13, and KAN News indicate a tightly contested race, with no party expected to secure a clear majority. According to surveys, Gadi Eisenkot’s Yesh Atid party appears to be in the lead, but achieving the necessary 61 seats for a majority in the Knesset remains a challenge for any political faction.
Average polling suggests that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party coalition and the opposition Zionist bloc are projected to each secure around 52 seats.
