Israeli Ambassador Reaffirms Support for India on Anniversary of Pahalgam Attack

New Delhi, April 22: On the anniversary of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Ruven Azar, expressed his condolences. He remembered the victims of the attack and reiterated Israel’s solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism.

Ambassador Azar took to social media platform X on Wednesday, stating, “It has been a year since the tragic death of 26 innocent people in the Pahalgam attack. We remember them.”

He further emphasized, “Israel stands with India in the fight against terrorism.”

In a video message, he conveyed his sympathies to the families of the victims. He stressed that terrorism knows no borders and that India and Israel are united in facing this threat.

Azar stated, “On behalf of Israel, I express my condolences to the families of the victims and the people of India. In this time of sorrow, we stand in solidarity with you.”

During his remarks, Ruven Azar also referenced the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023. He noted, “For us in Israel, this pain is all too familiar. On October 7, we witnessed similar brutality against our own people. This tragedy reminds us that terrorism has no boundaries. In our fight against terrorism, India and Israel are united.”

It is important to note that the Pahalgam attack occurred on April 22, 2025, when tourists were targeted. Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 26 tourists by asking them their religion. Among the deceased were 25 tourists and a local pony driver who attempted to save them. The attack was carried out by ‘The Resistance Front,’ a faction associated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.

In response to this attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 6 and 7, targeting key terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
