Israel Claims Its Fighter Jet Shot Down Iranian Aircraft Amid Rising Tensions

Tel Aviv, March 4: Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday that its Air Force achieved a significant milestone. An F-35I Adir stealth fighter jet reportedly shot down an Iranian aircraft.

According to the IDF’s statement, the incident occurred this morning over Tehran, where the Iranian jet was intercepted by the IDF’s F-35I Adir. This event escalates the conflict in the region, marking the first time an Israeli F-35I has targeted and downed a piloted aircraft.

On Wednesday, the IDF expressed its satisfaction on social media, stating, “Iranian jet shot down: The Air Force’s F-35I ‘Adir’ fighter jet has downed an Iranian Air Force Yak-130 fighter jet. This is a historic event for the F-35 ‘Adir’ fighter jet, marking its first engagement with a manned fighter aircraft.”

Typically, Yak-130 jets are used in Tehran for training and light combat purposes. However, during the current conflict, they have been deployed to counter drone and missile threats.

Tensions between Iran and Israel have intensified in recent weeks, with both sides conducting airstrikes and missile attacks on each other’s military bases and air facilities.

On the third day of Operation “Roaring Lion,” teams from Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s medical service organization, were dispatched to numerous locations across Israel following various missile impact incidents.

According to MDA and paramedics, a total of 60 injured individuals were transported to hospitals in Israel, with one person in good condition and 59 in stable condition. MDA teams reported that they have treated 369 injured, including 10 fatalities, 2 critically injured, 5 with minor injuries, and 352 with non-serious wounds.
