IRGC Claims Retaliatory Strikes on US Bases and Vessels

New Delhi, June 3: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has announced that it targeted US military bases and a vessel in response to alleged American attacks. This statement was shared by the Iranian embassy in New Delhi on its official social media platform, X.

According to the IRGC, this action is a direct response to US military aggression.

The statement revealed that late at night, the US military struck an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, damaging the engine section of the vessel. The IRGC condemned this as a violation of regional security protocols and stated that missiles were launched at a US-backed vessel named “Panaya” in retaliation.

Additionally, the IRGC accused US forces of conducting an airstrike on one of its communication towers located in the southern part of Qeshm Island. In response, the organization claimed that its aerospace force executed missile and drone strikes on US air and helicopter bases in a neighboring country, as well as the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet.

The IRGC emphasized that it had previously warned that any form of aggressive action would be met with a more severe and distinct response. The recent military action is said to be a consequence of that warning, serving as a message for the future.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered a vital maritime route for global energy supplies. Any military tension in this region could significantly impact international trade and oil supply. The IRGC reiterated that any attempts to disrupt the security of the strait would result in severe repercussions for the involved parties.

However, prior to this, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) dismissed the IRGC’s claims of an attack on the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.
