Tehran, March 21: Iran’s President Masoud Pajeshkian has made it clear that the country does not seek any form of war or conflict with Muslim nations. According to the official news agency IRNA, he expressed this sentiment in his message during the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, while Nowruz is celebrated as the Iranian New Year on March 21.
In light of rising tensions between Iran and several Arab countries, President Pajeshkian stated, “We do not desire any differences with Muslim nations. We neither want conflict nor war. They are our brothers.” He attributed these tensions to the actions of the United States and Israel.
He further emphasized that Iran is prepared to resolve all disputes with its neighboring countries through dialogue. Additionally, he proposed the establishment of a shared security framework among Muslim countries in the Middle East to ensure peace, security, and stability in the region.
President Pajeshkian remarked, “We do not need external powers in this region. With the cooperation of Muslim countries, we can create an Islamic assembly to better manage our security, economic, cultural, and political relations.”
On the issue of nuclear weapons, he clarified that Iran is not pursuing the development of such arms. He noted that the country’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had already issued a religious decree prohibiting nuclear weapons, meaning no official can take steps in that direction.
However, he accused the United States of attempting to convince the world that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.
It is noteworthy that on February 28, the U.S. and Israel jointly launched attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities. These attacks resulted in the deaths of Iran’s then-Supreme Leader, numerous senior military commanders, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran initiated a series of missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and U.S. positions in the Middle East.
