Tehran, February 11: Iran’s President Masoud Pajeshekian has announced that the country is prepared for “any form of inspection” of its nuclear program, emphasizing that Tehran does not seek nuclear weapons.
During a ceremony marking the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, he stated, “We do not want to acquire nuclear weapons. We have reiterated this multiple times and are ready for any verification.”
Addressing a large crowd at Azadi Square in the capital, Pajeshekian also asserted that Iran would not yield to excessive demands in this matter.
He criticized the United States and Europe for creating a “high wall of suspicion” through their statements, which has hindered productive dialogue.
“Our country, Iran, will not bend to their excessive demands. We will not bow to attacks, but we are committed to continuing dialogue with neighboring countries to establish peace and tranquility in the region,” he said.
Reflecting on last year’s protests, Pajeshekian remarked, “Today, the world should see that the people of Iran have come out in millions to protect their revolution, stand with their leadership, and defend their cherished homeland.”
He explained the significance of freedom, stating that the aim of the 1979 popular uprising was to establish justice, safeguard Iran’s independence, and demonstrate that Iranians and Muslims can build their nation through strength, determination, knowledge, and art, bringing respect and freedom.
Apologizing for administrative shortcomings, he assured citizens that his government is working resolutely to solve problems, expressing confidence that with God’s help and the wise guidance of the revolution’s leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, they will succeed.
