New Delhi, April 20: Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bowl first against Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
In a significant change for LSG, Manimaran Siddharth has been included in the lineup, while Digvesh Rathi has been left out.
Punjab Kings, on the other hand, made no alterations to their squad.
“We are going to bowl first. Coming here, we want them to set a total for us. They’ve been one of the best teams in the tournament, but it gives us the freedom to play more freely against them. Generally, I feel that chasing 220 runs is sometimes better than chasing 200. (Manimaran) Siddharth comes in, and (Digvesh) Rathi misses out. (And that elbow is fine?) PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer remarked, “I feel that it’s a great challenge for us. Going forward in the tournament, we’ll have a fair idea about how to approach the first innings, since we haven’t batted first so far.
