
New Delhi, May 19: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured their playoff spot by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets in the 63rd match of IPL 2026. Heinrich Klaasen played a pivotal role in this victory, scoring a powerful 47 runs off just 26 balls. With this performance, Klaasen reclaimed the Orange Cap.
In IPL 2026, Klaasen has amassed a total of 555 runs across 13 matches. He has surpassed Sai Sudharsan, who is in second place with 554 runs from the same number of matches. Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill follows closely in third with 552 runs, while Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star batsman Virat Kohli has scored 542 runs, placing him fourth. KL Rahul, representing Delhi Capitals, rounds out the top five with 533 runs this season.
The Purple Cap remains with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has taken 24 wickets in 13 matches. Following him is Kagiso Rabada from Gujarat Titans with 21 wickets. Anshul Kamboj from CSK is currently third with 20 wickets, while Jofra Archer and SRH’s Ishan Malinga are tied for fifth with 17 wickets each.
At MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium, CSK batted first, scoring 180 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Dewald Brevis contributed 44 runs off 27 balls, and Karthik Sharma added 32 runs from 19 balls. However, SRH chased down the target of 181 runs comfortably, achieving it in 19 overs with five wickets lost. Ishan Kishan led the charge with a brilliant 70 runs off 47 balls, complemented by Klaasen’s quick-fire 47.
