A large crowd of devotees attended the Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, witnessing an extraordinary spiritual celebration.

Ujjain, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : In Ujjain, on October 30, the Mahakaleshwar Temple hosted the Bhasma Aarti on the fifth day of the waning moon in the Kartik month. This ritual attracted a significant number of devotees eager to witness the divine spectacle.
At dawn, following the directive of Lord Veerabhadra, the temple doors were opened with the sound of drums and trumpets. After the divine adornment and the Bhasma Aarti, worshippers were granted the opportunity to glimpse Baba Mahakal.
The temple buzzed with chants of “Jai Shri Mahakal,” resonating with the sounds of bells, conch shells, and sacred mantras. As the temple gates opened, the water abhishekam (ritual bathing) of Lord Mahakal commenced, using Panchamrit, a sacred mixture made from milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, and fruit juices.
During the worship, the first bell was rung to offer water, followed by the lighting of camphor. Baba Mahakal then adorned a crown, leading to the Bhasma Aarti accompanied by the sounds of cymbals, drums, and conch shells.
Baba Mahakal was beautifully adorned with a silver crescent, trident, and crown, captivating the devotees present. Many had queued since the night before to witness the sacred ceremony.
In accordance with tradition, the Bhasma Aarti is presented by the Mahanirvani Akhada. It is believed that after the offering of Bhasma, Baba Mahakal reveals his form to the devotees. This magnificent ritual draws numerous pilgrims to the holy city of Ujjain, who feel blessed to partake in the experience.
