La Liga: Real Madrid, Betis, and Athletic Club Secure Crucial Wins

Madrid, April 22: In the Spanish football league La Liga, Real Madrid narrowed the gap with league leaders Barcelona to six points after a 2-1 victory against Alaves.

From the outset, Real Madrid adopted an aggressive approach. Star forward Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring with a stunning shot from outside the penalty area in the 29th minute. Madrid maintained their dominance throughout the match. However, just before halftime, Eder Militao was forced off the field due to injury, raising concerns for the team.

In the second half, Vinicius Junior doubled the lead with a brilliant goal following an impressive move by Fede Valverde. Although Toni Martinez scored for Alaves during injury time, it was too late to change the outcome.

Meanwhile, Real Betis ended a seven-match winless streak by defeating Girona 3-2. Victor Tsygankov scored the opener, but Mark Roca and Abde Ezzalzouli turned the score around. Rodrigo Riquelme netted the decisive goal for Betis.

In another match, Athletic Club triumphed over Osasuna with a 1-0 victory. This win was crucial as it nearly eliminated their relegation threat. Gorka Guruzeta scored the only goal, while goalkeeper Unai Simon made a remarkable save, including stopping a penalty.

The match between Mallorca and Valencia ended in a 1-1 draw. Samu Costa scored for Mallorca, while Umar Sadiq equalized for Valencia.

All eyes are now on the upcoming matches, where Barcelona will face Celta Vigo, and Atletico Madrid will take on Elche.
