Noida, March 21: The administration in Gautam Buddh Nagar is conducting a rigorous investigation to curb the commercial misuse, black market activities, and illegal refilling of LPG gas.
Under the directives of the District Magistrate, joint teams from various departments have been formed to carry out regular inspections across different areas of the district. According to the District Supply Officer, these teams are led by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the Municipal Magistrate, including officials from the Weights and Measures Department, the Food and Civil Supplies Department, and representatives from various oil companies.
Recently, these teams conducted raids and inspections at several gas agencies and potential sites in Noida, Greater Noida, and Jewar. Inspections included the Mithila Gas Godown, Aardhika Bharat Gas Godown, and Gaurav Enterprises Gas Godown located in Sector 54 of Noida, among others.
Additionally, the Sai Vinay Bharat Gas Agency in Noida, the Mahalaxmi HP Gas Agency in Greater Noida, and the Indane Gas Agency in the Jewar area were also inspected. The investigations revealed that all gas agencies had a sufficient supply of LPG cylinders, and all licenses and documentation related to weights and measures were found to be up to date.
To further prevent the black market and illegal refilling of domestic gas cylinders, the administration also raided two grocery stores. However, no equipment related to gas refilling or domestic gas cylinders was discovered at these locations.
Despite this, all shopkeepers received strict warnings and were instructed not to store or engage in illegal refilling of domestic gas cylinders under any circumstances. The District Supply Officer clarified that this campaign will continue to ensure transparency in the distribution of LPG and other petroleum products while strictly enforcing regulations. The administration’s actions are expected to curb illegal activities, providing relief to consumers.
