Indias Nuclear Program to Power an AI-Driven Future, Says Minister Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated on October 20 that India’s nuclear program is dedicated to peaceful purposes and will play a crucial role in powering an AI-driven future. Speaking at the Bloomberg Economy Forum 2026, Singh highlighted the increasing importance of nuclear energy in meeting the country’s future energy demands, particularly for artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers.

Recalling the vision of Dr. Homi Bhabha, the founder of India’s nuclear program, Singh reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to using nuclear energy for peaceful and developmental objectives. He noted that this commitment is central to India’s strategy as the country expands its capabilities to meet emerging technological and developmental needs.

Singh emphasized the necessity for reliable energy sources to support the growth of AI and data centers, which have escalating and continuous energy requirements. He asserted that nuclear energy will complement India’s other energy initiatives, contributing significantly to the energy needs of a rapidly technology-dependent economy.
