Indian Stars Rally for Womens T20 World Cup Match Against Australia

London, June 28: The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 features a crucial Group A match between Australia and India at Lord’s. The Indian team needs a victory to secure a spot in the semifinals. Notable figures such as Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravi Shastri, and actress Anushka Sharma were present in the stands to support the team.

Former cricketer Ravi Shastri was seen cheering alongside Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma. Shikhar Dhawan also attended the match with his wife to show support for the Indian squad.

In the match, India won the toss and opted to bat first, setting Australia a target of 171 runs thanks to a spectacular half-century from captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur then stabilized the innings. Jemimah scored 34 runs off 28 balls, including 1 six and 1 four, before retiring hurt. Harmanpreet played a captain’s knock, hitting 3 sixes in the final over to elevate the team’s score to 170 for 4. She scored 56 runs off 27 balls, with 3 sixes and 6 fours, before being dismissed on the fifth ball of the last over. Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh also contributed with 4 and 1 run, respectively, remaining not out.
