Nagoya, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : Indian shooters have made a remarkable impact at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya. Following the women’s team securing a silver medal on Sunday, the men’s team added to the tally with a silver of their own on Monday. The trio of Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane, and Rudraksh Patil delivered an outstanding performance.
Parth Mane expressed that this medal holds special significance for him. In an interview, he stated, “This medal is very important and special to me, as it is my first medal with the senior team and at the Asian Games. My qualifications were not good, and I was not satisfied with my performance, but I learned a lot from this experience, which will help me in future matches.”
He continued, “Ups and downs are part of everyone’s journey, and mine has had its share. After winning a gold medal at the junior championship in 2024, I joined the senior team. Initially, I found it challenging to score as high as the senior players, but with the support of my coach and my entire team, I managed to reach that level. My team and coaches have played a significant role in my journey. My parents have also supported me from the start and never questioned my choices. I want to dedicate this medal to my parents and my coach.”
The Indian shooting team has had a stellar performance at the 2026 Asian Games, winning a total of six medals, five of which are from shooting events. The women’s team claimed silver in the 10-meter air rifle event on Sunday. Following this, in individual competitions, Elavenil Valarivan secured a gold medal. After the men’s team won silver, Himanshu Dhillon and Rudraksh Patil also showcased exceptional skills in their individual events, with Himanshu winning silver and Rudraksh taking home bronze.
