Kuwait, March 7: In light of escalating security conditions and significant disruptions in air travel across the Middle East, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait has issued a new advisory and FAQ for Indian citizens. The advisory urges citizens to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary outings, and adhere to official announcements.
A 24/7 helpline number, +965 65501946, and an email contact have been provided for emergencies.
The advisory includes crucial information regarding safety, travel, and emergency assistance for the Indian community, particularly for those residing in Gulf countries or stranded in conflict-affected areas.
According to the embassy, recent regional tensions and military activities have led to the temporary closure of airspace in several countries, resulting in numerous flight cancellations. Many Indian travelers are currently stranded at airports or uncertain about their travel plans. The embassy has assured the community that they are in constant contact with local authorities and airlines to provide assistance and alternative travel arrangements when necessary.
The most pressing concern in the FAQ relates to safety. The embassy has clarified that Indian citizens must follow all safety directives issued by local governments. People are advised to avoid unnecessary movement and stay indoors as much as possible. The embassy also cautioned against trusting rumors or unverified information circulating on social media, emphasizing the importance of obtaining information only from official sources.
Travelers are advised not to engage in aerial photography or use drones. In the event of witnessing a missile, drone, or any foreign object falling, individuals should maintain a safe distance and avoid gathering near such areas to ensure everyone’s safety, especially children.
Regarding travel-related inquiries, the embassy noted that regular flight services are temporarily affected in several countries, but limited special or irregular flights are being arranged. Travelers are encouraged to stay in touch with their airlines for updates on travel rescheduling. Some countries have also implemented measures such as extending visa durations or waiving overstay penalties to facilitate safe returns for individuals.
All consular services continue to operate as usual. The embassy’s four Indian Consular Assistance Centers (ICAC) are open after Ramadan working hours (from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). These centers are located in Kuwait City, Jleeb Al Shuyoukh, Fahaheel, and Jahra, with complete addresses provided.
Many Indians have also inquired about what to do if they find themselves stranded during travel. The embassy advises such individuals to keep their passports, tickets, and other documents ready and to register their details on the embassy’s website or helpline. In some cases, the embassy has issued special registration links for stranded travelers to facilitate alternative routes or transit travel arrangements if needed.
The embassy has reassured the Indian community that the 24/7 helpline is active, allowing citizens to directly contact officials in any emergency. Mission officers are working with local authorities and community organizations to ensure the safety and welfare of Indians.
