Ahmedabad, March 8: The T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad this Sunday. Fans across the nation are buzzing with excitement. Former cricketer Lakshmi Ratan Shukla has confidently stated that India will win the final and make history.
In an interview from Howrah, Shukla emphasized the significance of today’s match. “This final is a monumental event. Cricket fans from all over the country will be watching closely. We expect the Indian team to perform well and seize the World Cup trophy,” he said.
Shukla pointed out that if India wins the final, they will become the first team to win the T20 World Cup consecutively. “No team has managed to hold the T20 World Cup trophy twice in a row,” he noted.
He expressed confidence in the Indian team’s performance, stating, “I believe India will make history in this stadium in Ahmedabad. The last time we won the final was under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. This time, I am optimistic that under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership, we will emerge victorious.”
The former cricketer mentioned that the Indian batting lineup will face a significant challenge against New Zealand’s bowlers. “Our batsmen have been effective in disrupting the line and length of opposing bowlers throughout the tournament. If our opening pair and middle order perform well, India can certainly win this match,” he added.
Regarding the New Zealand team, Shukla acknowledged their strong batting performance in the tournament. “India cannot afford to take this match lightly, as T20 matches can turn on a dime,” he warned.
He also praised Indian opener Sanju Samson, highlighting his impressive partnerships in the last two matches. “I expect him to score runs in the final as well,” Shukla remarked.
The former cricketer concluded by stating that the final promises to be thrilling. “India has never beaten New Zealand in a T20 World Cup. If we win today, many records will be set and broken.”
