India Opts to Bowl First in 4th T20 vs New Zealand; Ishan Kishan Out

Visakhapatnam: India won the toss and chose to bowl in the fourth T20 match against New Zealand at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. The Indian team has made one change, with Ishan Kishan being rested due to a minor injury. Arshdeep Singh will replace him in the playing eleven.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed at the toss that Ishan Kishan is carrying a slight injury. “There was heavy dew during training yesterday. We want the team to continue good habits and entertain the fans. Ishan is a bit injured, so Arshdeep is playing in his place,” he said.

New Zealand will also make one change, with Jack Falcks coming in for Kyle Jamieson. Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner said, “There is already dew on the ground. We want the team to post more runs. The pitch is good. Lockie Ferguson, Daryl Bracewell are still out, and Allen has not yet arrived.”

India has dominated the series so far, winning the first match by 48 runs, the second by 7 wickets, and the third by 8 wickets in Indore. Since the start of 2024, India has claimed 11 consecutive T20 series or tournament victories. Meanwhile, New Zealand has lost their last nine T20 matches against India, Australia, and England.

The two teams have faced each other in 28 T20 matches to date. India holds an advantage with 15 wins, New Zealand has won 10, and three matches ended in a tie—with India winning two of those in the tiebreakers.
