India Crowned T20 World Champions Again, Dilip Ghosh Congratulates Team

Ahmedabad, March 9: The Indian cricket team has emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup 2026 final, defeating New Zealand by a remarkable 96 runs. This victory marks India’s second consecutive title as world champions. BJP leader Dilip Ghosh expressed his congratulations, stating that everything unfolded as expected and praised India’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament. He noted that the team played like champions in their last three matches.

Ghosh remarked that those who previously criticized Jay Shah are now silenced. He questioned the credentials of certain football federation leaders, highlighting that they have never played the sport yet held significant positions. He emphasized that Jay Shah has demonstrated the need for a firm approach towards teams like Pakistan and Bangladesh, illustrating the difference between diplomacy and cricket management.

He also pointed out that talented players like Ishan Kishan were initially overlooked in the IPL. Ghosh recalled asking Shah when Kishan would get his chance, to which Shah assured him it would happen. Kishan’s performance ultimately contributed to India’s victory, showcasing Shah’s creativity as an administrator. Ghosh extended his congratulations to Shah and commended the entire Indian team for their championship-level display, which has made the nation proud.

India has now claimed the T20 World Cup title for the third time, becoming the first country to win it on home soil. In the final match held at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, India set a formidable target of 256 runs, leading to New Zealand being bowled out for 159 runs in just 19 overs.
