New Delhi and Riyadh held the third meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Security Working Group under the Political, Commerce, and Security Cooperation Committee of the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council (SPC) on Wednesday.
The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Vinod Bahade, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, and Ahmed Al-Eisa, Director General for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation at the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
Both sides reiterated their strong condemnation of all forms of terrorism, including cross-border terrorism. They specifically referenced the horrific terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April 2025, and the terrorist incident near the Red Fort in New Delhi on 10 November 2025.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the two parties thoroughly reviewed their ongoing security cooperation. They exchanged views on the threats posed by terrorist groups globally and regionally, and discussed enhancing collaboration to address existing and emerging challenges in counterterrorism.
The discussions covered combating extremism and radicalisation, countering terrorist financing, preventing the misuse of technology for terrorist purposes, and addressing links between transnational organised crime and terrorism.
Measures to strengthen bilateral legal, judicial, and law enforcement cooperation were also deliberated. The next meeting of the Security Working Group will be held in India on a mutually agreed date.
In April of the previous year, India and Saudi Arabia expanded their bilateral SPC by adding two new ministerial committees focused on defence cooperation and tourism and culture, respectively.
