India Aims for Developed Nation Status by 2047, Says PM Modi

New Delhi, August 15: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the commitment to transforming India into a ‘developed nation’ by 2047, marking a century of independence. He emphasized that this goal can be achieved through the collective efforts of 1.4 billion citizens.

A nation becomes great when it realizes its potential, driven by its dreams, resolutions, and capabilities. We can no longer afford to dream small. It is essential to envision larger aspirations, as they expand our thinking and broaden our horizons.

PM Modi stated that our resolutions must be steadfast. When our determination is strong, we can find ways to navigate through challenges and adversities. Our aspirations should also soar high, as elevated dreams and resolutions enhance our capabilities and efforts, enabling us to turn those dreams into reality.

In his address, PM Modi highlighted that India has set a significant dream with firm resolve. This dream aims to reach new heights, envisioning a ‘developed India’ by the time we celebrate 100 years of independence in 2047. The collective effort of 1.4 billion citizens is crucial to achieving this goal.

He noted that when the world’s most populous nation commits to becoming ‘developed,’ it showcases our courage on the global stage, compelling the world to change its perception of us.

“I am not stating this lightly. Over the past 12 years, citizens have worked with dedication and commitment to elevate the nation to new heights. I respectfully acknowledge their efforts. This is evident as, in a short span, 250 million citizens have risen above poverty. It is due to their endeavors that we have become a rapidly growing economy,” PM Modi remarked.

He added that the nation had many dreams at the time of independence, but we struggled to gain momentum, often caught in a cycle of complacency. However, in the last 12 years, India has gained new momentum. We are moving forward rapidly, and it is now impossible to halt the resolve and capabilities of 1.4 billion citizens.
