New Delhi, August 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day. He expressed that today, every heartbeat resonates with the chant of ‘Vande Mataram.’ Every home and every heart is adorned with the tricolor flag.
In his speech, Modi emphasized the significance of this day, stating, “Today, we celebrate our 80th Independence Day. Every heartbeat echoes with ‘Vande Mataram.’ The nation is moving forward with enthusiasm and new resolutions.”
He extended warm wishes to all citizens, reminding them of the great sacrifices made by the heroes who fought for the country’s freedom. “Today, we remember those great souls who dedicated their lives for our independence,” he added.
Modi paid tribute to all freedom fighters, including Mahatma Gandhi, who ignited the spirit of sacrifice. “I respectfully salute the great revolutionaries who have inspired generations,” he stated.
He noted that for those present at the ceremony, this is a historic moment. “For the first time since independence, ‘Vande Mataram’ resonates from the Red Fort on August 15. As we celebrate 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram,’ what could be a more fitting occasion?”
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi addressed the recent natural disasters affecting parts of the country. He acknowledged the floods and landslides that have impacted many families. “We deeply empathize with their pain. I assure the affected families that we and the entire nation stand with them,” he concluded.
