Hyundai Motor India Announces Price Hike of Up to 1% Effective September 2026

New Delhi, August 19: Hyundai Motor India Limited, the South Korean automotive manufacturer, has announced a price increase of up to 1% across its entire vehicle portfolio, effective from September 2026. The company attributes this hike to rising input and commodity costs, increasing operational expenses, and ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties.

According to a filing with the stock exchange, the price increase will vary based on the model and variant of the vehicles.

The company stated, “We plan to raise vehicle prices by up to 1% across our entire portfolio starting September 2026. The amount of increase will vary depending on the model and variant.”

Hyundai emphasized its ongoing efforts to optimize costs and absorb rising expenses to minimize the impact on customers. However, due to continuous cost increases, it has become necessary to pass on a portion of these elevated costs to customers through a modest price adjustment.

The company further explained, “The price revision has become essential due to various factors, including rising input and commodity costs, increasing operational expenses, and ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties.”

Hyundai Motor India’s decision to raise vehicle prices comes at a time when the company is facing pressure on its profits. In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2027, the consolidated profit after tax (PAT) plummeted to ₹888.6 crore, down from ₹1,369.2 crore in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from operations also saw a slight decline, dropping 0.5% year-on-year from ₹16,412.9 crore to ₹16,334.6 crore.
