HyperOS 4 Leak Unveils Major UI Overhaul and Leica Color Integration

Mumbai, April 14: Xiaomi is reportedly developing HyperOS 4, with leaks revealing significant updates. This new version promises not just an upgrade but a comprehensive overhaul, featuring a modernized user interface and premium Leica color palette integration.

The latest insights come from a Chinese tipster known as Smart Pikachu, who shared information via the microblogging platform Weibo. According to the leak, HyperOS 4 will introduce substantial changes to the core user interface. While specific details remain scarce, it appears Xiaomi is moving away from its traditional design language towards a more cohesive and contemporary aesthetic for its next-generation operating system.

Additionally, the leak suggests that Xiaomi is working on a Leica color palette for this major release. Although no detailed specifications were provided, this likely indicates a high-contrast, premium look for the system UI, previously exclusive to the camera application.

While we await a firsthand experience of these changes, they certainly sound promising. Xiaomi’s software team seems dedicated to making HyperOS 4 feel more premium and feature-rich. Sources from Ximitime indicate that the modifications in HyperOS 4 extend beyond mere visual enhancements.

Moreover, Xiaomi may be implementing deeper changes that could go unnoticed by most users. Previous leaks suggest the company is phasing out remnants of the legacy MIUI framework. The core applications for HyperOS 4 are expected to be rewritten using the RUST programming language, enhancing system fluidity and security.

Although Xiaomi has yet to officially announce HyperOS 4, reports indicate it could launch alongside the Xiaomi 18 series in the third quarter of 2026, with beta testing set to commence in August.
