Mumbai, May 3: Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has reported impressive sales figures for April 2026, totaling 4,938 units. This includes 4,069 units sold in the domestic market, reflecting a significant year-on-year growth of 21%. Last year, the company sold 4,871 units during the same month. However, exports stood at 869 units, a notable decline from 1,511 units in April 2025. Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at HCIL, stated that the company has started the new financial year on a positive note with this substantial growth in the domestic market.
In addition to the strong sales performance, Honda is set to launch two new products: the City facelift and the ZR-V, on May 22. These models are expected to contribute further to the company’s success.
The Honda City facelift is anticipated to draw design inspiration from the internationally sold Honda Civic. Inside, it may feature an updated infotainment system, new upholstery, and a 360-degree camera. The updated City is likely to retain the existing 1.5-liter iVTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine alongside a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid powertrain.
Meanwhile, the Honda ZR-V Hybrid is expected to be launched as a CBU model in India. It boasts dimensions of 4,568 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,665 mm. The SUV will showcase Honda’s signature design language, including a vertical slatted oval front grille, integrated LED DRLs, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the ZR-V will feature a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital driver display, dual-zone climate control, power front seats, and a Bose sound system. This powerful hybrid SUV will be equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol engine, two electric motors, and a compact battery pack, delivering 184 bhp and 315 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds, offering a mileage of approximately 22.2 km per liter.
As Honda gears up for the launch of these exciting new models, the automotive community eagerly anticipates the enhancements they will bring to the market.
