Prayagraj, August 4 (H.S.) – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorm activity in Lucknow and six other districts of Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours. The weather department has also warned of possible lightning strikes during the rain.

According to the forecast, districts including Lucknow, Unnao, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Hardoi, and Sitapur are likely to experience sudden intense rainfall, thunderstorm activity, and gusty winds.
Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Alert for 34 Districts
A medium to heavy rainfall warning has also been issued for 34 other districts of Uttar Pradesh. These include:
Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Kanpur Nagar, Etah, Kasganj, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Kannauj, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bareilly, Rampur, Aligarh, Budaun, Bulandshahr, Sambhal, Hapur, Amroha, Moradabad, Meerut, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, and Saharanpur.
These districts are expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall along with sudden gusty winds and thunderstorm activity, with a possibility of lightning strikes at some locations.
Residents in these areas are advised to remain cautious, avoid open areas during storms, and follow safety protocols issued by local authorities during heavy rain and lightning activity.
