Heavy Rain Forces Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijays Kerala Visit to be Canceled

Thrissur, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Thousands of fans gathered in Thrissur on October 16, hoping to catch a glimpse of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. Unfortunately, heavy rain forced the cancellation of his highly awaited visit to Kerala, leaving supporters disappointed.

Vijay was scheduled to travel from Coimbatore to Thrissur to attend a special Navratri event hosted by T.S. Kalyanaraman, chairman of the Kalyan Group. However, inclement weather disrupted his travel plans, resulting in the cancellation of his helicopter journey to Thrissur.

Officials from the Kalyan Group confirmed the cancellation. Instead of proceeding to Thrissur, Vijay returned to Chennai on a special flight. The news shattered the hopes of the thousands of supporters who had gathered at the event site and nearby areas since early morning.

Many fans waited for hours to see the Chief Minister. According to officials, Vijay has promised to visit Thrissur at a later date. This visit was particularly significant as it would have marked Vijay’s first trip to Kerala since taking office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

His journey from a popular film star to the head of the Tamil Nadu government has garnered significant attention, attracting large crowds whenever he makes a public appearance. The Navratri event at Kalyanaraman’s residence provided a unique opportunity for Vijay to visit Kerala privately.

Excitement was palpable among supporters, who arrived well ahead of schedule. However, the cancellation of the event on Friday has postponed the much-anticipated meeting between Vijay and his Kerala supporters.

Despite the weather-related setback, Vijay’s promise to return has kept the hope alive for his visit to Kerala. No new date for the rescheduled trip has been announced yet.
