Governor Emphasizes Welfare Initiatives for Veterans in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, February 8: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General (Retired) K.T. Parnaik, underscored the importance of timely implementation of welfare schemes for veterans across the state. He called for prompt financial assistance and an effective grievance redressal mechanism during a review meeting with Air Commodore R.D. Mosabi (Retired), the Director-cum-Secretary of the State Soldiers Board, at Lok Bhawan.

The Governor engaged in a detailed discussion on the welfare, rehabilitation, and employment support for veterans and their dependents, emphasizing the need for effective coordination with the armed forces and government agencies.

Expressing concern for his fellow veterans, the Governor highlighted the state’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of veterans, war widows, and their families through timely execution of welfare programs, financial aid, and swift grievance resolution.

He also suggested organizing rallies for veterans in collaboration with Indian Armed Forces units stationed in Arunachal Pradesh. This initiative aims to reach a broader audience and ensure direct engagement with the community.

The Governor called for concrete and results-oriented measures to assist veterans through skill development, employment facilitation, and guidance for self-employment.

He advised the State Soldiers Board to act as a robust coordination platform among the armed forces, state government, district soldiers boards, and the central soldiers board. This would ensure effective policy implementation and meaningful outreach to the veteran community.

In a related event, the Governor of Mizoram, General (Retired) Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, attended a state-level veterans rally at Lammual Ground in Aizawl, accompanied by First Lady Bharti Singh. Mizoram’s Home Minister K. Sapdanga also participated in the event, highlighting the state’s proud tradition of peace, harmony, and mutual respect between citizens and uniformed personnel.

The Governor described the rally as a powerful reflection of mutual respect, trust, cooperation, and goodwill between the public and the armed forces.
