
New Delhi, April 5: This week has seen a significant rise in gold and silver prices. Gold has crossed ₹3,600 per 10 grams, while silver prices have increased by approximately ₹6,100 per kilogram.
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has risen to ₹1,46,608 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,42,942 per 10 grams last week. This indicates an increase of ₹3,666 per 10 grams over the past week.
The price of 22-carat gold has also climbed to ₹1,34,293 per 10 grams, compared to ₹1,30,935 previously. Meanwhile, the price of 18-carat gold has increased from ₹1,07,207 to ₹1,09,130 per 10 grams.
Silver prices have also shown an upward trend. In just one week, silver has risen by ₹6,166, reaching ₹2,27,813 per kilogram, up from ₹2,21,647 per kilogram last week.
In the spot market, 24-carat gold hit a high of ₹1,50,853 per 10 grams on April 1, while the lowest price recorded was ₹1,46,608 per 10 grams on April 2.
Silver reached a peak of ₹2,39,836 per kilogram on April 1, with a low of ₹2,24,660 per kilogram noted on April 2.
The bullion market was closed for two days due to Mahavir Jayanti on March 31 and Good Friday on April 3, leading to reduced activity in gold and silver trading.
Internationally, gold and silver prices have also seen an increase, with gold priced at $4,702 per ounce and silver at $73 per ounce.
