GATE 2026 Admit Card Release Soon; Exam from February 7

The IIT GATE 2026 admit card is eagerly awaited by all candidates preparing to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. Aspirants can download their admit cards from the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in once released.

The exam is scheduled to be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, organised by IIT Guwahati. The test will be conducted in two shifts daily. The first shift will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the second shift will be from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Mock Tests Available for Preparation

To assist candidates in their preparation, IIT Guwahati has activated links to mock tests on the official portal. These practice tests provide an experience similar to the actual examination and help candidates familiarize themselves with the question formats and time constraints.

Steps to Download GATE 2026 Admit Card

1. Visit the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

2. Click on the admit card link displayed on the homepage.

3. Enter the required credentials and log in.

4. The admit card will appear on the screen.

5. Download and save the admit card.

6. Take a printout of the admit card for exam day use.

Important Details to Verify on the Admit Card

Candidates should carefully check the following information on their admit card:

Exam centre address

Exam date and time

– Candidate’s name and date of birth

– Candidate’s photograph and signature

Exam Pattern for GATE 2026

The GATE exam duration is three hours. Questions will cover General Aptitude and the candidate’s selected engineering subject. The question types include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Negative marking applies only to MCQs: for each wrong answer of a 1-mark MCQ, one-third mark will be deducted, and for a 2-mark MCQ, two-thirds mark will be deducted. MSQs and NAT questions do not have negative marking.

GATE 2026 will be conducted solely in English. Each paper carries a total of 100 marks, with 15 marks allocated to General Aptitude and the remaining 85 marks to the chosen subject.
