Kolkata, March 28: BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh has made serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) regarding the gas crisis in West Bengal amid the election atmosphere. He claimed that the real reason for the gas shortage in Bengal is black marketing. According to him, domestic gas is being misused on a large scale.
Ghosh asserted that domestic gas cylinders are being used for cooking not only on the streets but also in restaurants. This misuse, he argued, is causing a perceived shortage for the common people.
He directly accused TMC members of being responsible for this situation. However, he also expressed confidence that measures would be taken to prevent such issues in the future, ensuring that everyone receives gas on time and that no significant crisis exists.
Speaking about the West Bengal elections, Ghosh noted that TMC has sensed its impending defeat, which is why it is continuously obstructing BJP events. He alleged that attempts were made to create tension and conflict during Ram Navami celebrations at various locations.
Additionally, he voiced concerns regarding the electoral process, stating that large-scale manipulation is occurring in the state. Ghosh claimed that TMC is coercing people to vote alongside them. Nevertheless, he expressed trust that the Election Commission is monitoring the situation closely and will maintain strict oversight.
Voting for all 294 assembly seats in the state will take place in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for April 23, covering 152 seats, while the second phase will be held on April 29 for 142 seats. The election results will be announced on May 4.
