Hyderabad, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the ‘Ahimsa Pillar’ in Miyapur, Hyderabad, on Sunday, promoting a message of peace and non-violence. He stated that the unveiling of this pillar is not merely a ceremonial act but a commitment to strengthen and preserve the eternal ideology of peace and non-violence for future generations.
Reddy highlighted the significance of Lord Mahavir’s message, which emphasizes the interconnectedness and mutual reliance of all living beings. In a world rife with conflict and violence, he stressed the urgent need for respect, harmony, and peaceful coexistence.
The Minister pointed out that India has consistently embraced the path of non-violence. He noted that the Narendra Modi government’s efforts to end violence in Kashmir and restore peace and stability are crucial steps toward promoting dialogue and harmony. “Non-violence is not a sign of weakness but the greatest strength,” he asserted.
Reddy also mentioned that the initiative to install the ‘Ahimsa Pillar’ showcases the power of ‘Nari Shakti’ (women’s power) and the role of women in India’s development. He praised the Jain women who organized the event, underscoring their leadership in preserving cultural values and enhancing social harmony.
Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Reddy said, development is increasingly in the hands of women, as evidenced by the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,’ which mandates 33% reservation for women in the legislature.
He described Hyderabad as a true confluence of cultures, with its diversity and heritage serving as a driving force behind the city’s progress. Reddy acknowledged the contributions of various communities, including Jains, Brahmins, and Maheshwaris, in the city’s economic, social, and cultural advancement. He expressed confidence that the spirit of “development and heritage” will continue to elevate Hyderabad and play a vital role in realizing the vision of a “Developed India 2047.”
The Minister called for unity against selfish forces that seek to divide society, emphasizing that solidarity is a significant strength for a developed India. He encouraged the younger generation to embrace technology while remaining rooted in Indian cultural values. Reddy advised parents to teach their children not only material comforts but also good morals and cultural values.
