Foundation Stone for Adilabad Airport to be Laid on Telangana Formation Day: CM Revant Reddy

Hyderabad, April 6: Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy announced on Monday that the foundation stone for the Adilabad Airport will be laid on June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day.

The transportation facilities in the underdeveloped Adilabad district have been inadequate, but the new airport will provide essential air connectivity. The Chief Minister stated that the state government has held several meetings with the central government to secure approval for the airport.

Revant Reddy made this announcement while addressing a public gathering after inaugurating various development projects in Pipri, Adilabad district. He outlined the government’s vision for the district’s development, emphasizing that the tribal-majority Adilabad region will be transformed into a hub for industry, education, and tourism. The acquisition of land for establishing a university in Adilabad is progressing rapidly, and the foundation stone for the university will be laid soon.

He also mentioned that ₹225 crore has already been allocated for the development of the Basara Gnana Saraswati Temple, with additional funds to be approved if necessary.

The Chief Minister committed to visiting the district every two months to approve necessary funding. He reiterated that the state government will resume the construction of the Pranahita Chevella project in Thummidihatti and aims to complete it soon.

He pledged to complete all pending irrigation projects, stating, “It is my responsibility to provide irrigation water to Adilabad and transform this area into a green and fertile region.”

Revant Reddy responded firmly to allegations from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regarding the development of the market yard, questioning the previous government’s lack of action during their decade-long rule. He urged the opposition to maintain dignity and restraint.

The Chief Minister noted that despite cases being filed against party leaders by the BRS government, Congress has fought for the people’s issues and successfully returned to power. He affirmed that Congress will remain in power and govern the state until 2034.

Revant Reddy clarified that he will engage in politics only during elections and will focus on the state’s development agenda moving forward.
