Lucknow, March 31: A Flydubai flight en route from Dubai to Kathmandu made an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. The aircraft was diverted due to adverse weather conditions in Kathmandu, which prevented it from landing there.
After receiving clearance from Lucknow’s air traffic control, Flydubai flight FZ-1595 landed safely at the airport. The plane was carrying a total of 157 passengers and crew members, all of whom are reported to be safe.
Airport officials stated that the decision to divert the flight was made as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety amid the unfavorable weather. After landing, necessary facilities were provided to the passengers.
Notably, a similar incident occurred earlier on Monday when an Air India Express flight from Bagdogra to Delhi made a super emergency landing in Lucknow. This was prompted by reports of smoke in the aircraft. Currently, that plane is parked at Lucknow Airport’s parking number 6.
The Air India Express flight had 148 passengers and 6 crew members on board. Upon receiving a smoke warning in the avionics bay, the pilot issued a pan-pan call to inform about the emergency. After landing, all passengers were safely evacuated and later transferred to Delhi via another flight.
Following the landing, the Air India Express aircraft was declared as ‘Aircraft on Ground’ and has been permanently held at Lucknow Airport for inspection and necessary repairs.
