
Mumbai, April 3: Actress Lillete Dubey, known for her roles in films like ‘Jubeda,’ ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho,’ and ‘Chalte Chalte,’ holds a special place in the hearts of her audience. On Friday, she shared an emotional post on Instagram to wish her late husband, Ravi Dubey, a happy birthday.
In her touching message, she wrote, “Happy birthday, dear Ravi. Your laughter still echoes in my ears. Your love remains in my heart. You will always live on in our hearts.”
Lillete also mentioned that Ravi was fond of the Simon & Garfunkel song “For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her.” She added, “I have played this song especially for you.”
Ravi Dubey was the general manager of the Man Singh Hotel. The couple married in 1978 and welcomed two daughters, Neha and Ira Dubey. Ravi passed away in 2015 due to pancreatic cancer. After his passing, Lillete single-handedly raised their daughters while continuing her professional career.
Lillete Dubey is celebrated for her versatility. She is an Indian actress and theater director, renowned for her powerful performances in Hindi films and international plays. She made her Bollywood debut with ‘Jubeda’ at the age of 46-47 and has since appeared in films like ‘Monsoon Wedding,’ ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho,’ ‘Baghban,’ and ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.’ She began her career with Barry John’s ‘Theatre Action Group’ in Delhi.
A prominent figure in theater, Lillete founded her own company, ‘The Primetime Theatre Company,’ in 1991. Her notable plays include ‘Dance Like a Man,’ which has had over 700 performances, and ’30 Days in September.’
