Miami, April 20: Florida women’s basketball head coach Tammi Reiss has announced the signing of Taliyah Parker, a transfer guard from TCU Horned Frogs. This addition brings a versatile and lengthy player to the Gators’ roster.
Standing at 6 feet 1 inch, Parker is familiar with change. After spending a season with the Texas A&M Aggies, she transferred to TCU for the 2025-26 season. Unfortunately, an injury limited her to 20 games with the Horned Frogs, preventing her from participating in the NCAA Tournament.
During her freshman year at Texas A&M, Parker demonstrated promise but faced similar injury challenges. She averaged 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 18 minutes per game before injuries sidelined her. When healthy, she showcased her potential with standout performances, including a career-high 14 points against Syracuse and 13 points at LSU.
Parker entered college as the No. 60 overall recruit and the No. 6 player in Texas for the class of 2024, according to ESPN HoopGurlz. She led South Grand Prairie High School to the 2024 UIL 6A State Championship game, finishing the season with an impressive 33-4 record and earning All-State honors.
The challenge for Parker has been maintaining her health, and Florida is hopeful that this fresh start will be beneficial. Coach Reiss expressed confidence in Parker’s abilities when she is at her best.
“I’m so happy to welcome Taliyah (Parker) to our Gators family,” Reiss stated. “She is an incredible athlete on both sides of the ball, possessing speed, size, and length. Her explosive first step allows her to effectively attack the rim.”
Reiss further praised Parker’s scoring versatility, noting, “Taliyah is a three-level scorer with the ability to face up and play with her back to the basket. She excels in transition, showcasing her speed and explosiveness. She is an intelligent, hard-working, and competitive young woman who brings a positive energy to any room.”
“I’m thrilled to coach her and help her find joy and success on the court,” Reiss concluded.
