Jodhpur, October 13 (Daily Kiran): With Diwali just around the corner, the festive spirit has already taken over Jodhpur. Markets are buzzing with excitement as a two-day Pushya Nakshatra period, considered highly auspicious for shopping, begins from October 14 and continues till October 15. Traditionally known as a ‘Mini Dhanteras’, this period is regarded as one of the most favourable times for making new purchases.

According to astrologer Arun Kumar, this year’s Diwali season is marked by a series of auspicious planetary alignments. The Pushya Nakshatra, referred to as the “King of Constellations,” will coincide with Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga and Amrit Siddhi Yoga on both days, making it an ideal time to buy gold, silver, vehicles, property, and valuable goods.
As per the Panchang (Hindu calendar), the Pushya Nakshatra period will begin at 11:54 a.m. on October 14 and end at 11:59 a.m. on October 15, lasting a total of 24 hours and 6 minutes. Purchases made during this time are believed to bring long-term prosperity and stability.
Markets Gear Up for the Festive Boom
Local traders are already witnessing strong footfall as buyers throng jewellery, automobile, and electronics stores. The two-day period is expected to see a major shopping boom across the city.
Among the 27 constellations, Pushya is the eighth and is regarded as one of the most auspicious. When it falls on Tuesday or Wednesday, purchases of movable and immovable assets are said to yield permanent benefits. Items such as gold, silver, vehicles, machinery, furniture, and electronics are especially preferred during this period for their association with wealth and prosperity.
